Welcome!
I would like to introduce my practice and highlight the periodontal services that I offer.
Anyone concerned about their gum condition and bone loss around their teeth should see me whether they have a referral from
their dental group/general dentist or not. If you do not currently have a general dentist or if you require a specialist in
another area of dentistry, I would be happy to refer you to the most responsible and best ones in your area. ( I operate independently,
owning my own private practice. I am not unfairly biased by any dentist or dental group practice ownership/investment franchise
or employment.)
The majority of periodontal procedures are covered by your dental and or medical insurance and should be performed by a periodontist,
a specialist in the field. Understand that insurance coverage should not be the basis for developing your treatment plan or
determining whether you should be referred to a periodontist. Periodontal diagnosis and treatment are the first steps in the
sequence of dental treatment. Addressing a patient's periodontal condition early is a preventative measure and improves the
chances of avoiding bone loss around teeth, gum recession, tooth mobility as well as tooth extraction and replacement. Despite
the prevalence of periodontal disease among adults, it is still under diagnosed and under treated, putting patients at risk
for systemic disease.
Choosing a periodontist is one of the most important decisions you can make. You want someone who is qualified, caring, and
accessible to you and your general dentist/specialist. Someone willing to take the time to go over all of your options and
treat you as an individual, not just as another patient. This is not an assembly line practice. I schedule patients with adequate
time between appointments. I address each individual's concerns and perform my procedures without being rushed.
In my office, all periodontal exams and procedures - both non-surgical and surgical - are performed by myself, not a dental
hygienist, general dentist or other less qualified staff members. In my practice, I pride myself on patient service, using
safe and proven procedures, and leading-edge dental technology. I am not involved in any clinical research or product study.
I keep infection control a priority. I submit to spore testing by the Biomedical Science Department at Marquette University
to ensure that my instruments are properly sterilized. I am Basic Life Support and Advanced Cardiac Life Support Certified.
I have created this website for both new and current patients with the help of medical doctors, fellow dental specialist,
dentists, hygienists and past patients. It includes specific information about myself, my practice, and general periodontal
information.
